Russia carried out another massive attack on the energy and civil infrastructure of Ukraine.

The Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Mykola Kolisnyk, said at a briefing on the morning of January 9 that during the night, the Russian occupiers launched more than 240 attack drones and 36 sea- and land-based missiles against Ukraine. As a result of the massive impact, substations and overhead power lines, as well as generation facilities, were significantly damaged.
As a result, emergency shutdowns were applied on the left bank of the capital and in part of the Kyiv region. At the same time, hourly shutdown schedules continue to operate on the right bank of Kyiv.
In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, since yesterday, more than one million consumers who were previously cut off due to strikes by the Russian Federation have been restored. More than 34,000 subscribers are still without electricity. In Zaporizhzhia, restoration work has been successfully completed since yesterday.
Not because of Russian shelling, but because of unfavorable weather conditions, more than 1,000 settlements in a number of regions were completely or partially cut off this morning, mostly in Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. Work is underway to restore the power supply here.
During the day, the energy companies promise to return the hourly schedules in all regions, except for the Left Bank of the Kyiv region.
