“Ukraine received $485 million from the United States and the World Bank within the framework of the PEACE in Ukraine project. Of these, $465 million was provided by the United States through USAID. Another 20 million came from the World Bank,” he said on his social networks.
Shmyhal added that the funds raised will be directed to compensation for social and humanitarian expenses of the state budget.

The Ministry of Finance also announced the receipt of assistance, clarifying that these funds “will help ensure the payment of assistance to internally displaced persons and persons with disabilities.”
“Cooperation with the United States and the World Bank team has helped the Government secure key social budget spending since the early days of full-scale war. I am grateful to the partners for the coordination of efforts and the urgent help,” commented Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko.
On December 18, the executive board of the World Bank approved financing for Ukraine for more than 2 billion dollars. The package includes $1.05 billion from the World Bank, supplemented by loan guarantees backed by Japan and Great Britain. The financial package also includes a grant in the amount of 1 billion dollars from the frozen assets of the Russian Federation.
