On June 12, a well -known Polish cartoonist Schepan Sadursky published a satirical image on Facebook, the hero of which was the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Danilo Getmantsev.
On the cartoon of the Getmantsev is depicted with a vacuum cleaner, which says “Reform” – it “absorbs” Ukrainian entrepreneurs who, through tax policy, are forced to literally “fly” from the country in the direction of Poland. The illustration depicts the Polish flag and people who leave Ukraine – the contours of which are recognizable in the background.
“HetmanCew and Pomoc Państwa Dla Przedsiębiorców, Którzy Uciekają Poza Ukrainianę” – the artist signed the work: “Getmantsev and the assistance of the state for entrepreneurs running from Ukraine.”
Why is it important:
It is the first international visual criticism of the Ukrainian official of this level. The cartoon went beyond the internal political discussion and broadcasts the signal: Hetmantsev’s economic policy not only harms business within the country, but also forms the image of Ukraine as a state that repels entrepreneurship – Even in the eyes of partners.
