On August 26, Russian troops launched a massive attack on critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine, including the country’s energy sector. The Air Force noted that the Russian military launched 127 missiles and 109 attack UAVs over Ukraine. As a result of anti-aircraft combat, 201 air targets were shot down – 102 missiles and 99 attack UAVs. Ukrenergo called this Russian attack on the Ukrainian energy system the largest since February 2022.

The Yasno company previously predicted that in winter the electricity deficit would be up to 35%, as a result of which Ukrainians could receive five to six hours of light a day.
