This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Foreign Ministry) of Germany Johann Vadeful, The Guardian writes.

According to the minister, Berlin expects that Russia will agree to the ceasefire and then be ready for negotiations. If the negotiation process fails, Germany is ready to offer additional weapons for Ukraine.

Germany’s chief diplomat also warned Russia of further consequences, including strengthening of sanctions.

Negotiations on ceasefireAs UNIAN wrote, on May 10, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, together with European leaders, voiced Putin ultimatum: either Russia agrees to a comprehensive unconditional ceasefire from Monday, or a new package of sanctions from Europe and America is waiting for it.

After that, the Russian dictator made a statement in which he evaded a direct response to whether Russia agreed to the truce, but suggested that he began direct negotiations with Ukraine in Turkey. Donald Trump responded to this on social networks, saying that Ukraine should immediately agree to negotiations with Russia in Turkey.

Zelensky reported that he would arrive in Turkey on Thursday, and hopes Putin would also come to talks.
