Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the number of people with disabilities in Ukraine has increased by 300,000.
Such a statement was made by the Minister of Labor and Social Policy of Ukraine, Oksana Zholnovych, in an interview with the “Karpyak na Suspilny” project. According to her, this figure may be higher, because many people have not yet registered their disability.
“The number of people with disabilities has increased by 300 thousand. These will be different people, because many of the elderly have registered disability, many have not yet registered disability. Therefore, I think that the number may be higher, but currently from 2.7 million to 3 “We have millions of people with disabilities,” Zholnovich said.
Registration of disability in UkraineAfter the corruption scandals in the MSEK, the Ministry of Health declared that the documents issued by the MSEK remain valid, and with them all rights, payments, benefits, deferments and social services. A person’s disability status will be valid until the date of the next assessment. If the status is lifelong, there is no need to pass the assessment.
They added that if the review was to take place in the first half of 2025, the deadline was automatically extended by 6 months from the date of introduction of the assessment of daily functioning, i.e. until 30.06.2025.
If a person missed the terms of re-evaluation, and it happened for good reasons, then until November 1, 2025, men aged 25-60 with group 2 or 3 have it against them, and until April 1, 2026 – all other categories.
