The resignation of Lecorton took place just a few hours after he introduced his Cabinet of Ministers. He was the seventh Prime Minister of Macron.
Opposition leader, National Association Chairman, Jordan Bardell, stated that “without returning to the elections and without dissolving the national meeting, stability cannot be restored.”
In France is a political crisisAs reported earlier, UNIAN, on September 8, in France, the entire government of Prime Minister Francois Bair was resigned. It happened after Bair tried to advance an unpopular savings plan of 44 billion euros, which included the abolition of two state holidays and freezing public spending. The resignation of the government has immersed the country into a new political crisis. The Bair Government has worked for 9 months.
The next day, Macron appointed a new Prime Minister – Sebastian Lecorton. Before that, he headed the Ministry of Defense. 39-year-old Lecorton was the only minister who worked in all Macron governments since his election for the first presidential term in 2017.
