Next year, Norway, with a population of 5 million, will provide almost 2.7 billion dollars in aid to Ukraine.
The Norwegian government planned to set aside 15 billion kroner for aid to Ukraine in the state budget for 2025, but the opposition demanded at least 45 billion kroner, believing that the amount proposed by the government would be insufficient. After a meeting with members of parliament on Tuesday, the government decided to raise the cost of aid to Ukraine to 30 billion kroner.
“We want Norway to play a clear and leading role in supporting the struggle of the Ukrainian resistance. Not only in the military, but also in the civilian plan, with the aim of protecting and increasing energy capacities and energy supply,” Prime Minister Jonas Har Støre said.
