The country has more than 20 days of reserves, which allows for stable provision of both civilian and defense needs, said First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during question time to the government in the Verkhovna Rada.

“Ukraine is fully supplied with fuel. We have more than 20 days of fuel reserves today. I cannot give more details about the reserves and the distribution from the podium, as the information is sensitive and sensitive. The enemy is also paying attention to this and is trying to destroy our fuel reserves and warehouses as much as possible,” Shmyhal said.

He also emphasized that fuel prices in Ukraine remain market-based and depend on the global situation.

“Fuel prices are market. They, of course, fluctuate depending on fluctuations in world prices for oil, oil products, and fuel in European countries. Even today, during the war, Ukraine remains a market economy,” the Deputy Prime Minister noted.

According to him, price fluctuations are inevitable, but the fact of having the necessary reserves remains key.

“Obviously, fuel prices will fluctuate, rise and fall as the market conditions change. But it is very important that today we have sufficient diesel reserves for civilian and military needs in our country,” Shmyhal added.

Fuel prices in Ukraine – the latest newsThe founder of the Prime group of companies, Dmytro Lyushkin, predicted that the price of gasoline and diesel at Ukrainian gas stations could increase by 2 hryvnias per liter, subject to the devaluation of the national currency and an increase in world oil prices.

Earlier, the director of the A-95 consulting company, Serhiy Kuyun, reported that fuel prices in Ukraine did not change with the onset of the new year, despite the increase in excise taxes.

We will remind that in 2024, Ukraine adopted a law on increasing excise taxes on fuel, according to which a gradual increase in excise rates until 2028 is foreseen.
