The government promises to prevent price jumps.

As Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko reported in Telegram, the government is “urgently eliminating” the consequences of Russian strikes on the “main bridge that connects Odesa and Izmail.”

“First of all, we provide the maximum possible alternative transport connection between parts of the Odesa region. We coordinate our actions with international partners,” she wrote.

The head of the government assured that Odesa is provided with everything necessary for “preserving humanitarian stability”.

“There will be no price fluctuations, in particular an increase in the cost of fuel. We are ensuring the stable operation of the banking and payment systems. We are simplifying the conditions of passenger transportation, primarily bus services, and simultaneously expanding the possibilities of rail transport. We are paying special attention to the conditions for uninterrupted business operation,” added Svyridenko.

According to her, Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba will coordinate all the above efforts.

The threat of a jump in fuel pricesAs UNIAN wrote, in recent days Russia purposefully and intensively attacked two bridges connecting the southwestern part of Odesa region with the rest of Ukraine with drones and missiles. Ukrainian military Serhiy “Flash” Beskrestnov warned that the Russians are trying to cut off Ukraine from the ports on the Danube.

Fuel market expert Dmytro Lyushkin noted that the loss of access to these ports will block up to 60% of fuel imports to Ukraine. In his opinion, this will quickly lead to gasoline shortages and rising prices. In the case of the final destruction of the bridge over the Dniester in the village of Mayaki, logistics to Izmail will actually be possible only through Romania, which will push fuel prices up by at least UAH 2 in the coming days.
