In Mariupol, at the intersection of Greek streets and Kafayskaya, repairmen found damage to a 24-fiber optical optical communication cable. As it is established, the damage occurred during the filming process.
“Unfortunately, neither the movie nor consulting during the shooting with representatives of communication operators were conducted. The film crew considered itself” entitled to any action “and, as a result, there was a fire and mechanical damage to the cable,” the statement said.
As a result, a number of communication operators were deprived not only of the main but also of the backup channels of data transmission, in particular GUP of the DPR “Ros”, GUP of the DPR “RTPC”, LLC “K-TV” and units of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The breakdown was eliminated in the morning on May 12 – there were 170 meters of damaged cable, as well as the installation of two couplings.
According to local media, they were able to start repair only after the intervention of security officers, since the emergency team could not start appropriate work due to restriction of access to the scene of the accident.
