“Kulebi was offered to replace Oksana Markarov, but the offer was given immediately after his resignation from the post of minister, and not “recently”, as the world press wrote”, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org
The former ambassador of Ukraine to the USA Oleg Shamshur (he worked in Washington from 2006 to 2010) said on Radio Svoboda that, according to his information, the search for candidates for the post of ambassador to the USA is currently actively underway. In his opinion, it should be a person who could start working “from wheels”. Shamshur added that he “heard about an offer” to Dmytro Kuleba.
Earlier this week, the Financial Times newspaper reported that Kyiv may recall the ambassador to Washington, Oksana Markarova, to “pacify the Trump team.” The publication also noted that this position was allegedly offered to Dmytro Kuleba, but he refused.
At the end of September, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, Mike Johnson, who represents the Republican Party, demanded the release of Markarov. This happened after she organized a visit to the American munitions factory in Pennsylvania for the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi. Only Democrats were present during that visit.
The Embassy of Ukraine in Washington and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not comment on the information of the Financial Times.
On September 5, the Verkhovna Rada supported the resignation of Dmytro Kuleba from the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, he wrote the statement a day earlier. First Deputy Minister Andrii Sybiga became the new head of the Foreign Policy Department.
