This is stated in the explanation of the Embassy of Ukraine in Poland on the social network Facebook in connection with the reports of the imposition of Poland by the President of Poland on changes to the special law, which determines the mechanisms of exercising the rights of temporarily displaced persons from Ukraine in Poland in accordance with the legislation of the European Union.

“Temporary protection regime for persons displaced from Ukraine is extended by the EU Council by March 4, 2027; it also retains on the territory of the Republic of Poland,” the explanation reads.

Therefore, according to Ukrainian diplomats, the decisions of the EU Council on temporary protection are binding on all EU Member States, including Poland, are subject to direct application, and their implementation is ensured by national legislation, including special law.

“The Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Poland monitors the development of the situation, is in constant contact with the Polish authorities and will inform the citizens of Ukraine in a timely manner about official decisions,” the report said.

The Embassy recommends citizens of Ukraine to refrain from hasty decisions, in particular on changing the legal status in Poland.

“Every individual situation requires a separate consultation with a lawyer for a comprehensive analysis of possible legal options,” diplomats added.

Poland will cancel part of payments to UkrainiansAs reported by UNIAN, on August 25 it became known that Polish President Karol Navrotsky vetoed the law on assistance to Ukrainian citizens. At the same time, he suggested that the law of the law and called on the Polish Parliament to work on the form of this bill.

Navrotsky defends the position that social justice must be achieved, because the Poles in their country should be equal with Ukrainians.
