On November 29, People’s Deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko (European Solidarity faction) stated that Shkrum could head the new Ministry of Unification of Ukrainians, the creation of which was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky last month. However, on December 2, Goncharenko noted: “There was information that Shkrum deputy is going to Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba.”
Alyona Shkrum did not comment on the decision to draw up a mandate and possible appointment to the government.
Alyona Shkrum became a People’s Deputy in 2014, when she was elected to the Verkhovna Rada of the eighth convocation from “Batkivshchyna” as a non-party member. In 2019, Shkrum was elected a People’s Deputy of the Council of the ninth convocation, she is a member of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy.
In 2014, she worked as an expert in advocacy for the NGO “Right to Defense”, before that she was an assistant lawyer and a lawyer in the bar associations of London and Paris, an assistant judge of the London Court.
