Such a deferral will allow the military to relax, assured the Ministry of Defense / Photo General Staff of the Armed ForcesThe Ministry of Defense of Ukraine initiated amendments to the legislation, which provide for a 12-month delay from mobilization for volunteers who have served under the “contract 18-24”. According to the press service of the department, the relevant bill was approved at a government meeting on Friday, June 27.

In addition, as noted in the ministry, a guaranteed deferral will allow volunteers to rest and, if necessary, undergo the necessary medical and social rehabilitation.
Contract 18-24 – what is knownAs reported by UNIAN, in February the Ministry of Defense officially launched the Project “Contract 18-24”. This is a voluntary initiative for Ukrainians aged 18-24, who are ready to join the defense forces for one year.
In May, the deputy head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine Pavel Palis stated that the “contract 18-24” can be expanded by specialties related to drones. According to him, 80% of the lesions of enemy equipment and the enemy’s personnel are the merit of calculations of unmanned aerial vehicles. Palis added that it is possible to argue for a long time about the role of tanks in modern war or ways of applying artillery, but “deny the importance of drones is impossible.”
At the same time, the other day, the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov noted that the ministry is ready to improve the motivational package and offer even more incentives for young people 18-24 years, who decide to conclude a contract for military service.
