This was said by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Dmytro Klimenkov, on the air of the telethon.He emphasized that the Ministry of Defense is actively investing in the development and purchase of the latest strike drones, especially Deep Strike – long-range drones that strike deep into enemy territory.
“Almost 60% of our entire budget in 2024, spent on unmanned aerial vehicles, is aimed specifically at deep strikes,” Klimenkov said.
At the same time, he added that already in 2025, more than 30,000 such drones will be delivered to the Ukrainian army.
“Deep strikes are a class of strike drones capable of operating at a very long distance – hundreds of kilometers. Such drones save the lives of our military and allow us to quickly respond to changes on the front. And that is why we are actively investing in deep strikes. This significantly develops our Ukrainian industry,” the Deputy Minister of Defense emphasized.
He also reported that in 2024, the Ministry of Defense financed the purchase of weapons in the amount of over 340 billion hryvnias, of which 50% is the purchase of Ukrainian weapons. According to him, the Ministry of Defense aims to increase this share of domestic armaments in 2025, because by developing its own production, it is easier to attract international investments in the defense industry. Klimenkov emphasized:
“In 2024, we started active cooperation with the Danish government, which directly finances the purchase of weapons for the Armed Forces from Ukrainian gunsmiths. And so the “Danish model” was born, thanks to which 170 million euros were received for the production of, in particular, deep strikes, artillery. In 2025 this year, we expect at least 3 billion euros of international financing, which will be directed specifically to Ukrainian production.”
Strikes on the territory of the Russian Federation – detailsAs UNIAN reported, in July 2024, Ukraine carried out drone strikes, the so-called deep strikes deep into Russia. Military expert Oleksandr Musienko said that, in particular, there is information that 5 Russian airfields were hit during the last two weeks.
The expert, commenting on the strikes on Voronezh and the surrounding area, noted that it was a large rear support base for Russian troops conducting combat operations in Kharkiv Oblast, Luhansk Oblast and other regions. He said that a large amount of logistics, military cargo of the enemy passes through Voronezh, so it will be under the sights of Ukrainian drones, and in the future, missiles, constantly.
According to him, there were also strikes on 5 Russian airfields – Morozovsk, Lipetsk, Savasleyka, Borysoglibsk and Baltimore, which perform different tasks, but all are involved in the war against Ukraine. He emphasized that drones are flying there and giving a “powerful result.”
