He suggested that such a scenario, although it would not bring a complete victory, would still mean a strategic defeat for Russia and limit its ability to extend west.
“I am deeply convinced that Putin wants to restore the Soviet Union. And he needs Ukraine. The Soviet Union without Ukraine is not the Soviet Union,” he said.
