Maria Zakharova Maria Zakharova “gave out” delusions about the situation in Kurshchyna / UNIAN collage from screenshotsThe official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are allegedly creating concentration camps in the Kursk region – the official’s briefing was held today as part of the IV Eurasian Women’s Forum in St. Petersburg and was broadcast live.

“Russian law enforcement agencies are receiving information about cases of violent deportation of residents of the Kursk region to Ukraine by B*nders who did not have time to evacuate. This, I would like to remind you, is a typical practice of the German-fascist occupiers. Do you remember how they kidnapped Soviet people, citizens of the Soviet Union into captivity, into slavery – it’s just one and the same handwriting,” Zakharova said.

The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation claims that he has at his disposal “numerous witness data” collected by the headquarters of the Russian Red Cross.

“In fact, there is simply direct evidence of the creation by the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Russian border areas like concentration camps, where they put local residents at gunpoint who, for various reasons, could not leave dangerous areas,” Zakharova claims.

She applies the definition of “Ukrainian Nazi” to the soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and assures that one of the Ukrainian prisoners of war reported an attack on a passenger train, which was allegedly being prepared in the Kursk region.

Zakhara also claims that there are “new facts of shootings and ill-treatment” of civilians in the Kursk region, and “all this” is being documented. At the same time, the official representative of the ministry did not provide any evidence during the briefing to confirm her words.

The Kursk operation is in the spotlight – which has already been reportedAs UNIAN reported, on August 6, it became known about a “breakthrough” of the Ukrainian-Russian border in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. Thus, a special operation was launched, during which the Russian occupiers were captured and their equipment was destroyed. The enemy began to transfer additional forces to the Kursk region.

Ukraine created a commandant’s office in the Kursk region to provide assistance to the local population, which for various reasons did not leave for another territory. Many of those who remained say they were not warned of the approach of the armed forces. The Ukrainian military immediately provided them with food, etc.

According to Western media, the Russian military command anticipated Ukraine’s invasion of the Kursk region and had been developing plans to prevent it for several months. This is evidenced by captured documents of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSB and the Russian army from the Kursk region. For example, in the January 4 memo, there was talk of a “possibility of breaking through the state border” by the Ukrainian army and an order was given to strengthen preparations to repel any attack.

Already on February 19, unit commanders were warned about Ukraine’s plans to quickly advance from the Sumy region into Russian territory to a depth of up to 80 km, in order to create a four-day “corridor” before the arrival of the main armored units of the Ukrainian army.
