Two natural persons posted bail for Chernyshov.
The former Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine will be released from the pre-trial detention center / photo UNIANOn November 19, a 51 million hryvnia bail was already paid for the former Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov, he should be released from the pre-trial detention center in the near future, Radio Svoboda reports with reference to law enforcement sources.
It is noted that two individuals paid bail – 30 million hryvnias and 21,600 million hryvnias, respectively, and he will be able to be released from custody on the evening of November 19.
The day before, the High Anti-Corruption Court sent the person involved in the “Midas” case, former Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov, to custody for 60 days with the possibility of posting a bail of more than 51 million hryvnias. It was noted that in the event of bail, Chernyshov will be subject to a number of obligations, including the wearing of an electronic bracelet.
In his speech, Chernyshov assured that he had nothing to do with the person under the pseudonym “Che Guevara”, as appeared on NABU tapes.
The Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) suspects Oleksiy Chernyshov of illegal enrichment and false declaration of income. According to the investigation, Chernyshov and his wife, in the interests of a former government official, received 55 million hryvnias in several installments from the participants in the embezzlement scheme of Energoatom.
Corruption scandal in the energy sectorOn November 10, it became known about the large-scale operation of NABU and SAP to expose corruption in the energy sector. According to NABU, the main activity of the criminal organization was the systematic obtaining of illegal benefits from the contractors of “Energoatom” in the amount of 10% to 15% of the value of the contracts.
The organization of this scheme includes businessman Timur Mindich (pseudonym “Carlson”), Minister of Justice and former Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko, executive director of physical protection and security of JSC NAEK “Energoatom” Dmytro Basov (“Tenor”), former adviser to former Minister of Energy Galushchenko Ihor Myronyuk (“Rocket”), as well as former Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov and his wife Svitlana, who “lighted up” on the “films of Mindich” under the pseudonym “Professor”.
