Pollard noted that the British government is waiting for appropriate decisions from the United States.

The Minister noted that the implementation of Prime Minister Kira Starmer’s initiative to create a “coalition of those who want” to control the potential peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia depends on the involvement of the United States. This is contrary to Donald Trump’s statements, which insists that the United States will not participate directly.
When asked if British troops can be placed in Ukraine if the United States refuses to participate, Pollard replied:
“No, the Prime Minister very clearly said that to unite European countries and other allies from all over the world to prepare the force that will provide peace, the US support will be needed. It is a conversation that he had with the President (Trump – UNIAN) in the oval office. This is a constant dialogue.”
His statement was heard during a meeting of military leaders from nearly 30 countries that took place on Thursday in London. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the details of the plan and preparation of the “operational phase” to ensure the safety in the event of ceasefire.
The idea of this format, actively supported by the old man and President of France Emmanuel Macron, raises some questions. In particular, there are doubts about how realistic this initiative is without the traditional role of the United States as the main guarantor of European security.
“We are optimistic that, by bringing people together, we can also demonstrate our friends from the United States today that Europe and our allies provide what they … want to see, we intensify support,” Pollard said.
