This question is still open / Photo - the General Staff of the Armed ForcesThis question is still open / Photo – the General Staff of the Armed ForcesThe rumors that the basic general military training (BZVP) would not be obligatory for Ukrainian students have proved to be false. This was reported at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (MES) in a comment for RBC-Ukraine.

The department noted that this issue remains open. It is unknown whether BZVP will not be obligatory for students.

“It all depends on the adoption of the law – its final text,” the Ministry of Education and Science told reporters.

The department emphasized that in the bill, which introduces the discipline “Fundamentals of National Resistance” instead of BZVP, it is stipulated that it will be obligatory for all students of the second year of study in institutions of higher and professional higher education.

It is noted that the bill is currently proposed to replace BZVP with “Fundamentals of National Resistance”, focusing on teaching domedic assistance, navigation skills and modern digital technologies. Moreover, field training is offered to reduce short trains to landfills.

“The introduction of the Fundamentals of National Resistance is not intended to prepare students of higher and professional higher education institutions for mobilization. It is about preparing for potential threats that any citizen of Ukraine may encounter in the future,” the Ministry of Education and Science said.

Rumors about cancellation of mandatory BZVP passing for students – what is knownEarlier, ZN.UA wrote that Deputy Minister of Education of Ukraine Mykhailo Vinnytskyi said that the basic general military training (BZVP) should not be compulsory for students. He noted that he did not know what to do when a large number of people want to redeem it.

Vinnytsky stressed that there is already a registered bill, which generally abolishes BZVP as a mandatory part of the educational process. Instead, there is a course “Fundamentals of National Resistance”.
