In particular, in Lower Silesia, due to the breach of the dam between the Topol and Kozelno reservoirs, the immediate evacuation of part of the city of Pachków, located in the southwest of the country, was announced.

“I just received information about the immediate evacuation of a part of Pachkuva. The mayor made such a decision because, unfortunately, the dam on the Topol reservoir has burst. The water is flowing at full speed, and all this leads to the fact that we are forced to think about health and life residents”, said the mayor of Nysa, Daniel Palimonka.

In turn, the Polish government introduced a state of natural disaster in parts of the Lower Silesian, Opole and Silesian Voivodeships in the south and southwest of the country. This was reported by the office of the Prime Minister of the country, Donald Tusk.

A state of natural disaster is being introduced for 30 days to improve services and fight the consequences of flooding. “Only necessary” restrictions on rights and freedoms are provided for, including an evacuation order and a ban on staying in certain places.

According to Polsat News, after the government meeting, Tusk announced the allocation of one billion zlotys from the reserve for the needs of places and people affected by the flood.

“I convened this meeting in order to pass an order on the introduction of a state of natural disaster as soon as possible,” the politician emphasized.

According to him, a detailed list of districts and communes to which such a state applies will be provided in Wrocław.

“We have such a tool as an evacuation order in the decree on the state of natural disaster, but as I mentioned yesterday, we will (use it – ed.) only in a situation where there is a direct threat to human life,” Tusk explained. .
