In particular, during the opening of the festival, the Russian flag was placed by the organizers. It happened on the day when the Russians again struck in Kiev and other cities of Ukraine. At least 21 people were killed on the capital, including four children and many victims. Therefore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine in a joint statement condemned the existence of a flag of the Russian Federation at the Venice Film Festival
