It is emphasized that the proposal of such an agreement to the President of the United States “kills two rabbits with one shot”: strengthen the security of Ukraine and Europe and immediately eliminate most of the trade deficit of the United States with the European Union.
“Unlike the mineral agreement that the Trump administration seeks from Ukraine, the European weapons supply agreement would be in cash for the United States, which could be put in the bank right now,” the publication said.
The publication was confident that the purchase of US weapons worth $ 200 billion could help ensure Ukraine’s ability to protect itself from Russian aggression as Europe has been expanding.
“If the war continues or Russia again attacks after temporary ceasefire, the cessation of supplies of the United States may be fatal for Ukraine. Europe will not be able to replace these supplies in its own production in the near future, especially for high -tech weapons, such as Patriot Air Defense and high -precision missiles,”
It is reminded that Europe has clearly demonstrated the inability to increase its defense industry since the Russian invasion three years ago.
“The same applies to Europe’s own safety, where it will take many years to develop and replace the critical components of US defense, including intelligence, missile defense and nuclear security umbrella,” the magazine added.
Thus, ensuring the uninterrupted supply of US military supplies to both Ukraine and Europe will remain critical in the coming years, the authors stated.
Termination of US assistance – what has been reportedWe will remind, on March 5, CIA Director John Retcliffe confirmed that the United States suspended the supply of weapons and intelligence data to Ukraine after a failed presidential meeting in the oval office.
Retcliffe noted that he is looking forward to the cancellation of the pause and continuing work with Ukraine in the direction of peace.
