We have an ambitious goal to open 5-6 negotiating clusters with the EU this year – the President during a meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian community in Poland

In Warsaw, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi met with the Ukrainian community and discussed important issues of unity, the country’s European integration course, joint steps with partners to bring a just peace, as well as support for Ukrainians currently living abroad.

“I would like to thank you not for today, but for all the days of the war, when you supported Ukraine, as well as before the war. But today the biggest challenge for us is the war for our independence. Therefore, I want to thank you for your daily work,” said the Head of State.

One of the topics discussed during the meeting was the work of the Ministry of National Unity and, in particular, the creation of unity centers in Poland, and later in Germany and the Czech Republic.

“We are different, but when we all fight against Russia, we are one people, one nation. The main thing is not to fight internally, not against each other,” the President emphasized.

During the meeting, Volodymyr Zelenskyi also talked about the strengthening of Ukrainian-Polish relations and the development of bilateral cooperation. In particular, the launch of new connections between Kyiv and Warsaw is planned.

Separately, the Head of State shared his expectations from the Polish presidency of the Council of the EU. During these six months, Ukraine expects to open three negotiating clusters on joining the European Union.

“We understand that our Polish colleagues are ready for two, but we will do everything to open three after all. Then – Denmark: we want to open three more clusters. But let’s see how it will be. We have an ambitious goal of opening 5-6 clusters. In principle, all can be opened this year, if it works out. We will try to do all this,” concluded Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
