Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva held a meeting with the security policy directors of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and Finland.
On behalf of the President, he discussed with his partners the results of the fourth Ukraine – Northern Europe summit, which took place on October 28-29 in Reykjavík, and preparations for the next one.
The main topics of the meeting are further joint efforts to strengthen Ukrainian air defense and strengthen the capabilities of the army.
Particular attention is paid to the results of the visit of the Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen to Ukraine in connection with the 1000 days of full-scale Russian aggression, one of the key results of which is the decision to increase Denmark’s contribution to the production of weapons in Ukraine by 130 million euros.
“We are grateful to Denmark for becoming the first country that believed in Ukrainian manufacturers of the latest weapons and made a significant contribution to the launch of its production. We need additional funding in order to strengthen the defense capabilities of our state and security in the region. We count on the expansion of support in this direction from the countries of Northern Europe in 2025,” the deputy head of the President’s Office emphasized.
In addition, during the meeting they discussed in detail the Victory Plan, ways of its implementation and coordinated joint steps to achieve a just peace for Ukraine in the near future.
Ihor Zhovkva thanked the countries of Northern Europe for supporting the Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine.
