In Washington, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi met with the bipartisan delegation of the US Senate led by the leader of the Democrats and Republicans in the Senate Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell and familiarized them with the key points of the Victory Plan.
The head of state thanked both parties of the Senate, the administration of the President of the United States and the entire American people for the important military, economic, energy and humanitarian support of Ukraine.
“Here, in the US capital, we have many friends who, from the first days of the full-scale invasion, have stood side by side with Ukrainians in the struggle for freedom and independence. I thank each member of the Senate for such support,” said the President.
According to Volodymyr Zelenskyi, such meetings are especially important right now, when the Russian Federation is intensifying missile attacks on critical infrastructure objects before the start of the heating season.
Among the topics that the Head of State discussed with the members of the US Senate, the most attention was paid to the situation on the front lines, the priority needs of Ukrainian soldiers, joint production of weapons and key areas of further American support. Ukraine’s priority is additional air defense systems and missiles for them.
A separate focus of the conversation is the strengthening of sanctions pressure on the aggressor state, as well as the use of income from frozen Russian assets for the needs of Ukraine.
