The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, visited the location of the 14th separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Roman the Great, where he met with the defenders of Kupyansk, and also held a meeting with the commander of OTU “Starobilsk” Serhiy Perts, Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine – Minister of Community Development and territory Oleksiy Kuleba and the head of Kharkiv OVA Oleg Sinegubov.
The head of state listened to Serhii Perets’ report on the operational situation in the area of responsibility of his group, as well as on repelling a recent attempt by Russian troops to break through to Kupyansk and capture many of its participants.
At the meeting, the brigades’ needs for drones and various sources of their provision were discussed in detail: from the state and the resources of the brigades themselves. Particular attention was paid to how to increase the ability of brigades to build capabilities in relation to drones and EW assets.
In addition, they discussed providing heat and light to certain areas of the Kharkiv region, evacuating people and protecting the region from Russian guided air bombs.
The President talked with the brigade commander Yaroslav Sydorov and the soldiers of the 14th OMBr named after Prince Roman the Great, and also awarded the best sergeants from OTU “Starobilsk” with state awards. Volodymyr Zelensky presented the defenders with the II and III degrees “For Courage” orders.
“I want to congratulate you on Sergeant’s Day, wish you health and victory. Thank your family and friends for supporting you. This is very important. To my parents, for raising such worthy, brave, strong Ukrainians. Take care of yourself, please,” said the Head of State.
