President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has met with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Osil Reno-Basso.
The Head of State thanked the EBRD for the support of Ukraine from the very beginning of full -scale Russian aggression and the implementation of important projects.
“The important industries that are supported today are the energy industry, energy stability in Ukraine. First of all, Naftogaz – we have said it today. Ukrzaliznytsia is our logistics, important stability in it. I thank you very much that we have programs here, ”the President said.
Volodymyr Zelensky and Renau-Basso discussed the expansion of assistance for state-owned companies, direct investment in the private sector and cooperation in the banking sector.
Particular attention is to support internal displaced persons and assistance with new housing for Ukrainians and Ukrainians who were forced to leave their home through the war.
“I believe that, in addition to banking and partnerships, it would be fair to increase the share of frozen assets. I will talk to partners in Europe, I will meet during the Munich Conference to be such a program. These are tens of billions. We would spend them to help people apartments to find a place to live, ”the head of state said.
Ozil Renau-Basso noted that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the EBRD, Ukraine has allocated 6.2 billion euros to Ukraine, including EUR 2.4 billion last year. She stressed that the bank would continue the implementation of the projects in the energy and support of the private sector.
“These will be investment in support of the private sector, businesses, including small businesses to help them operate, create jobs in Ukraine. We have been working very closely with the energy sector of Ukraine, since the beginning of the war, we have invested 2 billion euros, including energy, development of networks, protection of electrical substations, ”the EBRD President said.
