Ukraine is strengthening cooperation with the European Investment Bank

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Iryna Mudra met with the newly appointed head of the Regional Eastern European Representation of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Kristina Mikulova.

The main topic of the meeting is the strategic directions of cooperation between Ukraine and the EIB, in particular investments in critical infrastructure, as well as financing of projects for the economic recovery of the country.

Special emphasis is placed on the need to strengthen energy security, restore the transport and logistics infrastructure that connects Ukraine with the EU. The European Investment Bank has expressed readiness to support projects that will contribute to Ukraine’s energy independence and modernization of key infrastructure facilities.

In addition, during the meeting, the participation of the EIB in the implementation of the EU Ukraine Facility program in the amount of EUR 50 billion was discussed.

Iryna Mudra also thanked for the strong support of Ukraine from the EIB since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.

“This meeting confirms the importance of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank. Thanks to the support from our European partners, we will be able to quickly restore critical infrastructure and increase the competitiveness of Ukraine’s economy,” concluded the deputy head of the President’s Office.
