Ukraine and Great Britain held the fifth round of negotiations on concluding an agreement on the transition to a stronger and deeper partnership. The negotiations took place in the development of agreements reached by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and the Prime Minister of Great Britain Keir Starmer during a telephone conversation on December 23, 2024.
Approval of the draft document is at the final stage.
“We are grateful to the United Kingdom for its leadership in supporting Ukraine. The conclusion of a new fundamental agreement between our states will be a historic event in our cooperation. This once again proves that Great Britain was, is and will be a reliable friend and partner of Ukraine,” said Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva, who, on the instructions of the head of the delegation, Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak, led the Ukrainian team at the negotiations.
The delegations of Ukraine and Great Britain agreed on the next steps to complete the work on the text of the agreement.
