In Davos, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama, during which they signed agreement on long-term cooperation and support between Ukraine and the Republic of Albania.
Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Albania has been providing Ukraine with military and humanitarian aid and will continue to support it throughout the ten-year term of the document.
In particular, the country will contribute to the coalition of fighter jets – it will provide language training for Ukrainian pilots and technical personnel.
In addition, the states will work on deepening defense-industrial cooperation. In particular, we are talking about joint production with localization in Ukraine.
Separate sections deal with economic partnership, cooperation in the field of security, holding Russia accountable, compensation for damages, sanctions against the Russian Federation and cooperation in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
In addition, Albania secures support for Ukraine’s future membership in the EU and NATO and the Peace Formula.
During the meeting, Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Edi Rama also discussed specific areas of defense support – things that can help Ukraine strengthen its position on the battlefield to bring a just and lasting peace closer.
Particular attention was paid to the future membership of Ukraine and Albania in the EU. After all, being a full member of the European Union is the goal of both countries.
Volodymyr Zelenskyi congratulated the official opening of the Embassy of Albania in Ukraine, which took place during the visit of the head of the Albanian Foreign Ministry last week.
