In Washington, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the bipartisan delegation of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, in particular with the leader of the Democratic Party in the House of Representatives Hakim Jeffries, representatives of the Armed Forces Committee led by its chairman Michael Rogers, as well as the chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs Michael McCaul and co-chairman Adam Smith, Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner, Deputy Democratic Leader Catherine Clarke and Honorary Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
The head of state noted that freedom rests on the bipartisan support and determination of the United States.
“This is a very important opportunity to meet. And I am grateful for the strong support of Ukraine from the United States, which saves the lives of our people and helps protect our independence and freedom,” the President said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyi familiarized the members of the House of Representatives with the key points of the Victory Plan, and also spoke in detail about the course of the war and the situation on the battlefield.
“We are at a decisive moment in this war. With the Kursk operation, we showed that Putin does not have enough strength to resist when we really apply pressure. And that is why, especially now, we need really strong pressure and strong positions of Ukraine to force Russia to make peace. And we prepared a plan, an urgent plan, how to strengthen us on the way to victory,” the Head of State noted.
The President called for assistance in giving Ukraine permission and the necessary means to attack military targets on the territory of Russia.
Among the main topics of the meeting are the protection of the energy network and preparation for winter, the blocking of the supply of Western components to the aggressor state, the development of Ukrainian long-range weapons and their use. Volodymyr Zelenskyi also called for investment in Ukrainian defense production.
In addition, they discussed ensuring free navigation in the Black Sea and Ukraine’s success in destroying the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation.
