President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sanchez.
The head of state thanked Spain for its help in Ukraine’s fight against Russian aggression, in particular for the allocation of 1 billion euros for military support last year. Ukraine expects to maintain the same level of assistance this year.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about the situation on the most difficult areas of the front and the needs of Ukrainian soldiers on the battlefield, in particular in artillery and armored vehicles. Strengthening of positions for the sake of pressure on Russia and forcing the aggressor state to a just and lasting peace is critically important for Ukraine.
Separately, the President emphasized the importance of increasing sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation. Ukraine expects that in the 16th package, the EU will apply sanctions against key sectors of the Russian economy, defense companies, the banking sector and expand the list of vessels of the shadow fleet.
