The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, awarded state awards to soldiers of the Airborne Assault Forces and Special Operations Forces.
The head of state handed over the “Golden Star” order to relatives of the fallen Hero of Ukraine Dmytro Maslovskyi (call sign “Cobra”), a soldier of the 71st separate hunting brigade. He has been defending Ukraine since 2018. During the full-scale Russian invasion, he performed combat missions in Zaporozhye, Kharkiv region, Donetsk region, as well as in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation. On November 17 last year, near Trudovoy, Dmytro Maslovsky fought with five Russian invaders who launched an assault on the position where the senior soldier remained for cover. Under intense sniper fire, Dmytro Maslovskyi destroyed and wounded four occupiers and engaged in hand-to-hand combat with the last one. The warrior was able to detain him, but he himself died from numerous wounds.
“Dmytro’s last battle, the battle in Donetsk region, was seen by everyone, millions of Ukrainians saw it – against the occupier, who was brought here five thousand kilometers from Yakutia to kill our people. It was a heroic battle and exemplary bravery of our boy. Ukraine will always remember this bravery. And we will never forgive Russia for the death of our heroes – we will respond to the enemy for every such loss,” the President noted.
Volodymyr Zelenskyi also awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree and the Order “For Courage” III degree to Ukrainian defenders participating in the Kursk operation. In particular, the awards were given to the soldiers who captured the first soldiers from North Korea.
“Ukraine did not attack either Yakutia, Korea, or any other nation that Moscow is targeting us with. Ukraine resists this thanks to the bravery of our people and thanks to our soldiers. Glory to all who are fighting for Ukraine,” the Head of State emphasized.
Those present honored the memory of all Ukrainian men and women who gave their lives for Ukraine.
