President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accepted credentials from the newly appointed ambassadors of four countries to Ukraine: Greece – Pantelis Alexandros Dimitrakopoulos, Albania – Ernal Filo, Japan – Masashi Nakagome and Egypt – Barakat Ali Elleiti.

The head of state congratulated them on the start of the diplomatic mission in Ukraine and expressed hope for strengthening cooperation between the countries.

During the meeting with the Ambassador of Greece, Volodymyr Zelensky noted the high level of bilateral relations and thanked for defense support.

The President talked about the main needs for military aid, primarily in air defense equipment, artillery and armored vehicles, and also emphasized the importance of the practical implementation of reconstruction projects by Greece.

“We have very good relations between the countries. Cooperation between our nations is very important to us. I know that your colleagues visited Odesa with an initiative to restore it. Maybe Greece will be able to join other countries and take one of the regions under its patronage,” the Head of State said.

In a conversation with the Ambassador of Albania, Volodymyr Zelensky noted the opening of the Albanian Embassy in Ukraine, which was evidence of the dynamic development of bilateral relations. The head of state thanked the government and people of Albania for their continued support since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.

Separately, he emphasized the importance of signing a bilateral security agreement as soon as possible.

“We had consultations on a bilateral security agreement. We hope that with your help we will prepare the document for signing as soon as possible,” Volodymyr Zelenskyi said.

During the meeting with the Ambassador of Japan, the President noted his country’s support for Ukraine and the development of current bilateral cooperation, expressed readiness to further intensify the dialogue at all levels, and also discussed current security challenges for Ukraine.

The head of state emphasized that it is important to strengthen interaction with Japan in the security sphere regarding the exchange of information and ways of joint response to the participation of the North Korean military in the war against Ukraine.

“Strong positions have been built between our countries. Our countries have signed an important and strong document on security guarantees. Today, the situation with North Korea and its troops on the Russian side requires a reaction – we need Japan’s support,” noted Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

In a conversation with the Ambassador of Egypt, the President noted that Ukraine is interested in the activation of bilateral dialogue, the rapid restoration of trade and economic cooperation, as well as the implementation of specific projects in the field of food security.

The head of state also emphasized that it is important to involve Egypt in the promotion of the Peace Formula, in particular joining the Joint Communiqué.

“I hope, Mr. Ambassador, during your term of office, our relations with Egypt will become stronger. We had a good trade before the war: mostly agricultural products. Now we have defensive developments and are ready to develop in this direction. We have a food security initiative “Grain from Ukraine”, and we hope that Egypt will join this mission,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
