During the trip to the Dnieper region, the first lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenskaya visited the center of psychological assistance, a driving school for people with disabilities and the Lyceum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
In particular, the president’s wife got acquainted with the work of the Center “You are not one” on the basis of Pidhorodnensky City Council. The institution can undergo medical examination and diagnosis, physical and social rehabilitation, as well as obtain psychological assistance and guardian support.
It conducts art therapy for adults and children, classes for expectant mothers and trainings that develop confidence and increase self -esteem.
The institution is equipped with the support of the International Organization of Migration, the Ukrainian-Swiss project of the International Technical Assistance “Mental Health for Ukraine” and the CPMSD of the Podgorodn City Council.
“In this way, there was a focus of assistance for residents, and jobs for specialists, and a good example for other communities – as a joint -act can really overcome difficulties,” – said Elena Zelenskaya.
The presidential wife also visited a driving school for people with a disability who works at the Dnieper University of Internal Affairs. This project is implemented within the framework of the initiative of the first lady “without barriers” in six areas. In particular, about one hundred students were trained in this driving school for 2024, 38 of them were current or former servicemen.
“The idea common to all our schools: disability is not an obstacle to those who want to learn how to steer. Students are converted cars, including manual management, and experienced instructors, ”the First Lady said.
In addition, together with Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kateryna Pavlichenko Olena Zelenskaya visited the Dnieper Lyceum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which was opened last fall. This is the fifth institution in the country created for specialized education of children of combatants. There are 144 lyceum students on full state support.
In the Lyceum, you can gain knowledge of domedic assistance, mine and cybersecurity. Experts of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conduct training, workshops and practical classes for children. All educators have gone the combat route and have a proper education.
“The work in the Ministry of Internal Affairs or other life path will be further elected lyceum students-in any case, the knowledge, principles, patriotism and respect for the protection of the country and people will remain with them,” the first lady summed up.
