Life needs protection here and now in Ukraine, and air defense systems must work for this – address of the President

We are already preparing for the meeting in “Ramstein”: a meeting is planned for this week. Dozens of partner countries, and among them there are those who can increase our capacity not only in defense against missiles, but also in defense against guided bombs, against Russian aviation.”, — write: www.president.gov.ua

Dear Ukrainians, Ukrainian women!

Rescue operations are currently underway in Sves, a village in the Sumy region, following the impact of Russian bombs. Hitting the house. Ruined entrance – apartments from the first to the fifth floor. Neighboring houses were also damaged. Another Russian blow to the lives of ordinary Ukrainian families. Seven people were injured, including a child, a two-year-old girl. He is now in the hospital. Necessary assistance is provided to all victims.

Today there were also strikes by guided air bombs on other villages of our Sumy Region: on Myropyll, on Vilnaya Sloboda, and also on Kharkiv Region. Today, the rescue operation in Chernihiv ended after a rocket attack – more than forty houses and buildings were destroyed and damaged there. Unfortunately, there was a dead person in Chernihiv. My condolences.

And this is a constant task – to strengthen our air defense. We are already preparing for the meeting in “Ramstein”: a meeting is planned for this week. Dozens of partner countries, and among them there are those who can increase our capacity not only in defense against missiles, but also in defense against guided bombs, against Russian aviation. We will talk about it with them, we will convince them. Life needs protection here and now in Ukraine, and air defense systems must work for this. I want to thank all partners who understand this and help us with the development of the air shield.

Today, Chief of Staff Syrsky reported in detail about our actions at the front. Fierce battles continue along the entire front line, and the hottest is in the Pokrovsky direction. The occupier continues to waste an insane number of his men in assaults. And I thank each of our units, all our brigades, which defend Ukrainian positions and ensure the destruction of the occupier.

The head of the committee also reported on the situation in the Kursk region. In particular, in the battles today and yesterday in the area of only one village of Makhnovka in Kurshchyna, the Russian army lost up to an infantry battalion of North Korean soldiers and Russian paratroopers. And it’s palpable.

In general, I would like to commend our soldiers of the Special Operations Forces and the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade for their professional and effective actions.

We must all remember: every day hostilities continue, every day Russia carries out terrorist attacks. Every day we have to support our army, all our Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine, be active in relations with partners: not lose connections and build new ones, as well as increase our own defense production and attract the necessary defense assistance.

A new result is required every week. Of course, there will be a lot of diplomacy this year, and Ukraine wants peace more than anyone else. Real diplomacy – the kind we need – can only be based on our strong positions: certainly, our army, our entire people, our state. Thanks to everyone who strengthens Ukraine!

Glory to Ukraine!
