In Lviv, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi visited the hospital for war veterans and the Superhumans prosthetics and rehabilitation center.
The head of state got acquainted with the work of the medical center, talked with doctors and soldiers recovering from injuries.
“I really want to thank you, guys, for your service, for protecting our state. Thank you, your brothers. I wish you a speedy recovery. And thank you very much to our doctors for helping,” said the President.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded six defenders with III degree “For Courage” orders.
Separately, the Head of State got acquainted with the work of the Superhumans center, where he also talked with Ukrainian soldiers undergoing rehabilitation and prosthetics.
“First of all, I want to thank all of you, dearest Ukrainians, dear soldiers, for protecting our country. You saved it. I am sure that this is part of a great victory, you are an integral part of it,” the President said.
Co-founders of the institution Andriy Stavnitser and Olga Rudneva said that the center specializes in prosthetics, rehabilitation, reconstructive surgery, hearing restoration and psychological support.
The institution provides assistance not only to military personnel, but also to civilians: both adults and children. During the existence of the center – since April last year – more than 500 operations have been performed here and more than 1,000 prostheses have been made.
The head of state inspected the swimming pool, the rehabilitation hall where people are taught how to use prostheses, gyms fully adapted for people with disabilities, as well as the latest prosthetics laboratory.
“Thank you for building such a universe. That is, it is not a hospital. Thank you for developing this direction. You provide great help to all people: soldiers, loved ones, the state. Thank you very much. And perhaps this experience is very important even for other states,” the President said.
By the end of next year, similar centers should appear in Odesa and Dnipro.
