President Volodymyr Zelenskyi met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands Kaspar Veldkamp, who is in Ukraine on a visit.
The head of state thanked the Netherlands for the support of Ukraine and continuous assistance to Ukrainian soldiers.
“We are grateful for your air defense systems first of all. I think you feel that it really helps Ukrainians a lot, especially “patriots” and other systems. This is very important. Thank you for the last package,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
During the meeting, in particular, they discussed strengthening cooperation between Ukrainian and Dutch defense companies and outlined promising directions. A just peace for Ukraine and all of Europe can be achieved primarily thanks to the strong position of our state at the front. This is the only way to put pressure on Russia and force it to make peace.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs noted that Ukraine and the Netherlands have a common goal – peace, security and stability in Europe. He assured that the position of the Netherlands regarding support for Ukraine remains unchanged.
“We believe in the principle of “peace through strength”, and Ukraine should sit at the negotiating table in the strongest position. The Netherlands will remain a reliable partner of Ukraine,” Kaspar Veldkamp emphasized.
He added that the Netherlands not only provides political and military support, but also helps with energy restoration. In addition, within the EU, the country continues to work on a new sanctions package to stop the Russian shadow fleet.
