Presidential Advisor Vladislav Vlasyuk met with representatives of the UN World Food Program to discuss the continuation of the Grain from Ukraine program.
In particular, it was about increasing assistance to those countries that need it most. A separate focus is to support the food of the people of Syria.
“Syria assistance is a very important topic for the President of Ukraine. It is a help from the Ukrainian nation of the people of Syria, who, like us, knows well what it is to suffer from the Russians. We would like to continue our cooperation in ensuring food security, ”Vladislav Vlasyuk said.
According to the Advisor to the Head of State, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food have agreed to a preliminary list of products that Ukraine can provide other countries with the support of UN OVP. This year, the further expansion of the grain from Ukraine presidential initiative is planned.
The UN OVP director in Ukraine Richard Ragan noted that the organization is interested in oil and will consider buying corn, wheat and peas. He emphasized separately that the UN WFP is now working to maximize the process of supplying products, including Syria.
