Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva held a meeting with David Angell, political director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Canada.
Ihor Zhovkva congratulated Canada on the start of its presidency of the Group of Seven. Ukraine is counting on this country’s active position to consolidate international support to achieve a just and lasting peace.
“It is important to increase sanctions pressure on the aggressor country and implement restrictive measures, especially against the Russian shadow fleet. Coordination at the G7 level is also key in countering Russian propaganda and on the use of frozen Russian assets for Ukraine’s needs,” said the deputy head of the President’s Office.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the continuation of the implementation of the bilateral security agreement.
Ihor Zhovkva also thanked Canada for its comprehensive support, primarily for strengthening Ukraine’s security and defense capabilities. Separately, he noted the country’s decision to participate in the drone coalition and the allocation of funds for the production of Ukrainian UAVs.
