– How easy was it for your guys on the field?
– We prepared for this match very seriously, because SC “Poltava” took points from quite serious opponents. We analyzed their game – they won a lot of fights, a lot of rebounds in the previous matches, they played quite aggressively. Therefore, it was necessary to play very well from the back, first of all, not to lose the rebound.
In principle, we played as we did with our previous opponents, because we knew that SC “Poltava” would give the initiative. They are dangerous when they immediately launch vertical attacks. We needed a balance, we understood that we would have scoring chances. It turned out, in principle, as we prepared, as we planned.
– How satisfied are you with the implementation today? Prosper has figured it out at the highest level – how would you rate his actions?
– Not only today, he also played very well in the previous match. If there is Prosper in the team, it means that it is necessary to use his strong qualities to the maximum for the good of the team. Today, he helps the team a lot.
Of course, he still had a few goal-scoring opportunities that he could implement, just like the whole team, but we still don’t implement as much as we would like. But we will work on these points.
– You did not resort to a deep rotation – from the first minute, only one change compared to previous matches. But you let Yashari, who returned from the Kosovo national team, play, and Marko Podoliak made his debut. To what extent does their physical condition currently meet the requirements of the UPL? How ready are they?
– Yashari and Nonikashvili only arrived yesterday after the matches on Tuesday, so, of course, they were not in perfect physical condition, because the matches did not take their strength as much as the road.
We started today without Yashari, we planned that he would come out in the 2nd half if it was necessary to strengthen the game. And he played his 35 minutes – this is important for his playing tone, Ponomarev said.
