Shakhtar U-19 coach Oleksiy Belyk chose the following starting line-up for the confrontation with Dynamo U-19: Baglai in goal, Kalyuzhny, Kostyuk, Mylokost and Reshetnikov in the defense, Bundash, Smetana and Tsukanov in the midfield, Tryfanenko and Tyutyunov in the winger positions, Kante in the center forward role.
The starting part of the match took place in an equal struggle on all areas of the field, which often led to fouls. After the standards were drawn, it was the “miners” who looked more dangerous. Already in the 13th minute, Smetana powerfully hit the crossbar from a free kick, but Surkis converted the ball to a corner. After his draw, Tsukanov had a chance to open the scoring, but his shot was blocked by a defender. “Dynamo” U-19, looking for approaches to Baglay’s goal, responded with long shots, but most of them were inaccurate.
Both teams acted cautiously, avoiding risk, so the ball often passed from one side to the other, and there were few chances close to the goal. In the 36th minute, the Kyiv team still managed to open the scoring after a positional attack: Osypenko in one touch crossed to Ponomarenko, who freed himself from Kostyuk’s care and fired a shot into Baglay’s goal from close range. The “Miners” immediately stepped up and could equalize the score even before the break: Kante tried to throw the goalkeeper, but missed the target by a little.
In the 54th minute, the “white-and-blue” team doubled their lead after taking a corner kick. Ponomarenko was the first to pick up the ball in the penalty area and beat Baglay. In just a few minutes, Smetana reduced the gap to a minimum with a luxurious shot from the standard. In the 73rd minute, the coach of the miners made a double substitution: Petruk and Sheleketa entered the field. In two minutes, after a combination attack, Petruk restored the balance (2:2).
Eventually, due to Bundash’s injury, the team was forced to reorganize a bit, and Kostyuk moved up to the defender position, and the fresh Garabazhii began to act below. At the end of the match, the Kyivans became more active and managed to take the lead again thanks to an accurate shot by Gubenko from a long distance, thanks to the wind (3:2).
Shakhtar U-19 lost to Dynamo U-19 (2:3). The Orange-Blacks will play their next game of the championship in the week of November 8 against Poltava U-19.
