The UAF and the FAI confirmed their mutual interest in the development of football projects, improving the quality of educational programs, sharing experience, and implementing modern methods of training athletes, coaches and specialists in the technical sector.
On the Ukrainian side, the document was signed by UAF President Andriy Shevchenko, on the Icelandic side by FAI President Thorvaldur Ehrligsson.
According to the memorandum, the parties will cooperate, in particular, through the following areas:
- organization and participation in football tournaments for men’s and women’s teams of all age categories and levels (in particular, charity competitions);
- conducting technical and educational courses for trainers and technical workers, as well as exchange of knowledge and experience between employees of national associations and other involved specialists;
- organization of seminars and conferences aimed at the development of professional competences;
- exchange of experience in the field of construction and management of sports infrastructure, application of equipment, materials, technologies and methodologies related to football;
- cooperation in the fields of sports science and sports medicine, including adaptive football;
- consideration of the possibilities of implementing joint charitable projects and grant programs in the fields of mass, adaptive, youth and women’s football;
- security cooperation and policy-making aimed at the development of violence-free football.
On November 18, it became known that the national team of Ukraine was in the first basket during the draw for the play-off round of qualification for the World Cup. Potential rivals include teams from Romania, Northern Ireland, North Macedonia and Sweden.
