UAF was elected in UEFA and FIFA on Matches in Moscow

The Ukrainian Football Association has sent a letter to UEFA, FIFA and Jordan Football Federation through a number of control matches planned by the aggressor countries, including September 4, a game of national national teams of Russia and Jordan.

The letter emphasized the prohibition introduced by FIFA and UEFA in February 2022, concerning the participation of Russian teams in international competitions. This position, supported by the world football community, remains valid and is an important manifestation of solidarity with the people of Ukraine.

“The brutal invasion war is ongoing. Russia kills peaceful Ukrainians daily. Conducting international matches with the participation of representatives of the aggressor country is a direct violation of not only the decisions of governing bodies, but also the basic principles of humanity, peace and respect for life, ”-in particular, the appeal is said.

UAF expresses particular concern due to recent matches that have already taken place or have been announced:

– January 21, 2025 – a friendly match between the Russian Zenit and Jordan’s national team in Qatar;

– February 26, 2025 – a match between women’s national teams of Russia and Jordan in the UAE.

The most concern is the match of men’s national teams, planned in Moscow, because holding such games in the territory of the terrorist state is unacceptable from the moral and political points of view.

The Ukrainian Football Association calls on all parties to immediately take appropriate measures to prevent further violations of FIFA and UEFA’s decisions and maintain the unity of the football family in the confrontation of war and aggression.
