Two Barcelona players could join Spanish side Girona to get regular game practice this season. This was reported by an authoritative insider, Fabrizio Romano.
Goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen and defensive midfielder Mark Bernal will change one Catalan club for another during the winter transfer window. Negotiations between the parties are progressing successfully.
Both players are expected to join Girona on loan until the end of the 2025/26 season and will be teammates with three Ukrainian footballers – Vladyslav Krapyvtsov, Viktor Tsygankov and Vladyslav Vanat.
In the current season, 33-year-old ter Stegen played only one official match. 18-year-old Bernal has one assist in 11 games.
