Peres is not ready to wait
In words, the presidents of the top clubs will say that the appointment of a young specialist is an investment in the future, but in reality the countdown is on for months. In today’s elite football, the result is needed immediately. People who spend millions on teams are not always ready to wait years for rebuilding, do not want to imagine that 1-2 seasons will be without trophies for the sake of the introduction of a new game model by the coach and the formation of a new microclimate in the dressing room. Especially Florentino Perez. Even if you have two “Dynamo” hearts, excuse me, “Real” hearts, you will be fired if there is no result.

For Perez, it doesn’t matter that Vinicius and Mbappe cannot be combined on the field at the same time, it doesn’t matter that Florentino is stepping on the same rake to some extent as in the early 2000s, when he assembled a star-studded line-up of Beckham, Zidane, Figo, Ronaldo, but it was not possible to combine them all together. In his picture of the world, he did everything he could, and the coach did not realize the team’s potential.
Perez is not interested in the fact that Alonso was not even given the opportunity to assemble the team he would have liked. Obviously, when a coach leads any team, he makes point reinforcements, but first of all he wants to work with those who are there, and only then make decisions about who is suitable and who is not. Even Amorim was given time for this, but Khaba did not have such luxury.
Disappointment in the trophy
Cups do not protect against dismissal. We all vividly remember being pointed at Fabio Capello’s door after winning La Liga in 2007. However, trophies definitely bring faith to the management that the project is developing in the right direction. Alonso failed to win either the Club World Cup or the Spanish Super Cup. Most likely, Florentino Perez did not believe in the championship in the national championship and the victory in the Champions League, and he does not want to wait another year and a half. For Real Madrid, a year without trophies is not just a disaster, it is a personal insult and a slap in the face for the president of the club. He will not tolerate this. Given the exit of the Galacticos from the Copa del Rey, the new Madrid coach has the goal of ending the season with a win in La Liga or the Champions League. Then we can proudly say that we saw not only Arbeloa’s dribbling, but also his glorious triumph as a coach. However, this is hardly believed at the moment, so Alvaro, most likely, will repeat the fate of Alonso.
Not the football that was expected
Under the gun of Xabi, everyone was waiting for the reincarnation of “Real”. More precisely, the transformation of Ancelotti’s chaos into Alonso’s system. The first changes began in the summer at the World Club Championship. After that, we saw 2-3 more or less good months in La Liga with cool pressing and a model that really looked like a system. However, this is not enough. Rebuilding a game does not happen in a matter of months, it takes years, changing positions, changing tactics, buying new players and selling old ones. However, the management of Madrid is not too worried about it. Xabi as a coach has to deal with this in a limited period of time, has to solve the puzzle of how to combine Mbappe and Vinicius on the same wing, how to find a role for Alexander-Arnold, how to play when you have no healthy central defender.

For Florentino, this is unacceptable. For Perez, it’s better for the team to play chaotic but brighter football than to wait years for Xabi to build a system and fine-tune all the settings.
There is no single team
The media has repeatedly written that not all players are satisfied with the approach and methods of the new coach. Vinicius’ displeasure with the replacement may just be the icing on the cake. In any case, there is no smoke without fire. In the locker room, definitely not everyone supported Alonso, and if there is no unity in the team, you should not expect the best result. Especially since after Khabi’s dismissal, the team also split into two camps: someone wished the coach all the best, and someone did not.

And don’t be blinded by the official communique marked “separated by mutual consent of the parties.” Xabi Alonso would hardly want to leave alone in a situation where he is gradually instilling his own system in the team, when he has a chance to win La Liga and the Champions League, when the score in El Clasico of the current season is 1:1. But Peres could easily frame everything as termination of labor relations by agreement of the parties. This was the case, for example, in the early 2000s, when Florentino sold Fernando Redondo to Milan and seemingly all participants in the deal gave the green light. Although the Argentine midfielder did not know about the transfer, and when he found out, he tried to block it. So I, as well as the authoritative publication The Athletic, do not believe that Xabi himself asked for his release.
Only one thing will remain unchanged. You can try to make offers to anyone, but if someone like Alonso or Klopp comes, he will start building his own system and it will take time, months, years. This does not fit into the football world picture of Florentino Perez, who needs a result and spectacular football here and now. And this is bad news for the club, because there are hardly any people who want to train him, and those who would be loyal to Peres, would not try to tame the chaos and would win everything at once.
