As Sport.ua learned, the 17-year-old Manchester United midfielder Zachery Baumann the process of obtaining Ukrainian citizenship began. The player of the youth team “Red Devils” wants to play for the national team of Ukraine.

This information was confirmed by the coach of the youth team of Ukraine U-19 Dmitry Mykhaylenkowho spoke about the Red Devils football player.

“Of course, we have been following him since he expressed his desire to play for the Ukrainian national team. Our representatives talked with him and his parents. If the player wishes to obtain citizenship, then this is definitely a positive moment and we must encourage it.

First of all, when calling players from foreign clubs, we must adhere to the sporting principle, and it does not matter where the football player plays. First of all, he must correspond to the level of the best players of the Ukrainian national team, this is the main indicator,” Mykhaylenko said.

Zakery Baumann was born in the city of Bolton in a family of Ukrainian emigrants. The player’s grandparents live in the city of Kolomyia.

In the current season, the midfielder played 4 matches and scored 1 goal for the Manchester United U-18 team.
