Ihor Kostyuk officially became the acting head coach of “Dynamo” after the dismissal of Oleksandr Shovkovskyi.
According to the source, the president of “Dynamo” Ihor Surkis prepared the basis for the possible appointment of Kostyuk in advance. It is reported that Surkis held a meeting with him even after the defeat of Kyiv against LNZ, where, probably, his promotion to the first team coach was discussed.
“Dynamo” Kyiv lost 0:2 to “Omonia” and has only three points in four rounds of the Conference League, which worsens the team’s chances of entering the playoffs. In the Ukrainian Premier League, the Kyiv team is not doing any better – only seventh place and ten points behind the leader “Shakhtar”.
After the last defeat, the leadership of Kyiv released Shovkovsky.
